Twin Rinks Youth Hockey Classes

November 3, 2020 - January 24, 2021

$10 discount if register by 11-1-20

Current guidelines categorize Ice Skating as a "lower risk" activity.
We are currently in level 3 which allows practices, training, and some competitions.
Effective 8-15-20 masks MUST be worn at all times in the building.
"When exercising indoors, face coverings should be worn at all times, including
while exercising or participating in practices or competition."

Only skaters and coaches allowed in the building.
1 parent may assist the skater to put on their skates and then leave the building.
1 parent may assist the skater to remove their skates before leaving.
Please enter the building no earlier than 15 minutes before your ice time and leave the building within 15 minutes of your end time.
If you are sick, do not enter the rink.
Please answer these four questions from the CDC if you answer yes to any of them, do not enter the rink for two weeks.
1. Have you been confirmed positive for COVID-19?
2. Are you currently experiencing, or recently experienced, any symptoms such as fever, cough, or shortness of breath,
    chills, muscle pain, sore throat, or new loss of taste or smell?
3. Have you been in close contact with any persons who have been confirmed positive for COVID-19?
4. Have you been in close contact with any persons who have traveled and are also exhibiting acute respiratory illness symptoms?
High-Risk Individuals: Vulnerable or high-risk individuals are discouraged from using the facilities during Phase 4.
Make sure your tissues get in the garbage can.
Water fountains are closed, bring your own water bottle.
We will be following CDC protocols for sanitation.

Please try to attend your assigned class, we do not offer makeup classes.

Hockey Beginner:
Beginner skaters ages 4 thru 12. The main focus is to give skater help with balance, confidence and agility. 2 foot glides, marching on 2 skates, forward swizzles, forward scooters, inside edge slides, 2 foot jumps, backward wiggles are covered. After passing Hockey Beginner register for Hockey 1. Equipment (can rent) Skates, knee pads, gloves/mittens, HECC approved helmet w/facemask, hockey stick.

Hockey 1:
Progressing skaters, the main focus is to give skater help with balance, confidence and agility. 2 foot glides, 1 foot glide, striding, forward swizzle, forward scooters, 1 foot stops, backwards wiggles. All maneuvers are done at a faster pace with greater proficiency required. After passing Hockey 1 register for Hockey 2. Equipment (can rent): Skates, knee pads/shin guards, gloves/mittens, HECC approved helmet w/facemask, hockey stick.

Hockey 2:
Intermediate skaters the main focus is on increasing skating skill and agility. 2 foot turns, full strides, backwards swizzles, scoot and crossover, inside edge slide, inside edge glide, and backwards C cuts. Basic puck handling is introduced. After passing Hockey 2 you may join the Jr. Sharks and/or register for Hockey 3. Equipment (can rent): Hockey skates, shin pads, hockey gloves, elbow pads, HECC approved helmet w/facemask and a hockey stick.

Hockey 3 & 4:
Advanced skaters ages 5 and up. Hockey stop, crossover start, pivot turns: forwards to backward & backwards to forwards, outside edge turns, weave with puck. After passing Hockey 3 you may join the Sharks house league. Full Equipment required (can rent)

Jr. Sharks ages 4-8:
Designed to improve players skills through a combination of instruction, scrimmages, games and clinics. One hour class per week. After passing Jr. Sharks you may join our Sharks hockey house league. Full equipment (including a neck guard) is required.

Novice Sharks ages 9 to 15 is for older youths with limited hockey experience who have never played house league, they have passed Hockey 1 and want to develop their skills and learn to play the game. Players are strongly encouraged to also sign up for hockey classes to supplement this program. No checking allowed and full equipment (including a neck guard) is required.

Individual Hockey Equipment Rental $2 each: Skates, Shin Guards, Pants, Gloves, Elbow Pads, Shoulder Pads, Helmet, Stick
